I think he will survive the arc and become a member. He always is "ready to die", which is why I don't think Oda will kill him.

Remember how he was protecting Luffy from the Akainu? That is the sort of thing I mean. I can easily imagine Jinbei trading his life for something that would bring a great advantage for the crew. But this is why I don't think he will die, would be too obvious.

Yeah. I know that zoro didn't want to be saved by he did owe his life for luffy for saving him.  The same goes to every other anime too. Even ichigo saved rukia and orihime. May be ishida too in quincy arc.
