So, does art refer to the quality of the pictures alone or does it also refer to the quality of story-telling?

" Justice is subject to dispute; might is easily recognized and is not disputed. So we cannot give might to justice, because might has gainsaid justice, and has declared that it is she herself who is just. And thus, being unable to make what is just strong, we have made what is strong just."

It's not genre either Tongue I can read anything, romance, pseudo historical, shounen, comedy, you name it =) I enjoy reading manga, and I know that I can pick any high quality title and I'll probably like it. But I restrict myself, cause I don't really have time for that stuff. So in the end I only read the ones that from the first glance made me so interested that I can't drop it.

Plot............

" Justice is subject to dispute; might is easily recognized and is not disputed. So we cannot give might to justice, because might has gainsaid justice, and has declared that it is she herself who is just. And thus, being unable to make what is just strong, we have made what is strong just."

Net? Well, I should have been more specific...........I read the synopsis.........

" Justice is subject to dispute; might is easily recognized and is not disputed. So we cannot give might to justice, because might has gainsaid justice, and has declared that it is she herself who is just. And thus, being unable to make what is just strong, we have made what is strong just."

I don't read any manga but I imagine plot and genre has a lot to do with the decision. I am always intimidated by this section in the bookstore because there are so many options - how does one just choose one?! =)

That's the same exact process with me as well. I often walk into a comic book store or a Barnes & Nobles or any other store that contains manga, walk through the manga aisle and my eyes lock onto multiple mangas that interest me without thinking for a second. Then usually I become intrigued to the point where I own several volumes.

I usually choose it according to the reading reviews, but - seeing how I am usually influenced by aesthetics - I also take into consideration the art and style of the manga. I might read mangas that are not particularly popular, if the art style is original and catches my attention and if I find some reviews that recommend them.
