I had been reading long manga until some moment and then just stopped. I suppose 1 of the reasons is that so many mangas are neither scanlated on my native language or language I can freely use nor finished by the author. I prefer to wait while manga has not published completely so that I can read whole story at once and get the maximum of emotions. And in most cases singleshots can be quickly read without spending much time on it.

So you are a programmer here, right?

popular manga like one piece, attack on titan, naruto, one punch man, are always scanlated and they are available in many websites. i use mangago . try it, it's got many chapters and many series. getting to the ending for a long manga is hard. it takes years but waiting for it every week can be fun too.

It's a unique name in every site I have signed in before.  Happy3
Thanks. I hope this site is alive, because I found some subforums where there were no new threads for weeks or even months.  Also I haven't mentioned before, but I found this site directly in google just typing "anime manga forum". The first reference brought me here.

Once I was more anime guy than manga as well. But after my few years experience for anime with it's censorship, with it's plots and other it became hard to surprise me. Most tropes are still the same, noone wants to make a really good anime from a really good origin. All that I see when watching a season list is: maaaan, stupid harems? Again? Identical slice of life comedies? Again? Travelling with smartphones? Again? (Well, I'm kind of exaggerating, I'm not saying there are no good harems, comedies and etc., but...). That's why I started to pay more attention on manga.

The same for me with the only difference that after 2nd and especially after 3rd I am not waiting for the 4th one. I am waiting for the end of manga. Well, with that speed of publishing I know what I will be doing in old age when manga will be already finished.
And what about 2nd season of Made in Abyss?

It's romance and vampires. It's totally cool. You should watch it sometime and it doesn't have the sappy romance just the regular romance of two guys trying to get a girl they like.

I understand your train of thought and usually I do act in the same way. But I also understand that in most cases 2nd and the following seasons are getting worse than the 1st one.

You could just ignore the rotten ones in anime then~. They do take harem ones, like say High school DxD for example cause it is well received by the fans. Plus, pervs exist everywhere. Ecchi genre is for them. There is nothing in such genre tbh. I saw Harem animes once .. Girls showing their skin, drooling over one guy, intimate moments etc.. It just got saturated at some point like ya previously told : " Am I to watch another same old shit where a Beta male is bounced back and forth like a ball among the girls?" and most time we do know who the lameass MC ends up with.

And sequels generally depends man. I personally loved sequels of geass, AOT, BNHA , Clannad , Owari No seraph etc .. Most would agree on what I said. It just depends on how they take the story after a certain point. Also, depends on the manga.

i didn't expect the main character in clannad to end up with that airhead. there were lots of pretty girls in it. harem isn't something i like

I watched many anime too around 400's just like you. I prefer short anime too but if the plot is nice, I will watch a long anime but not binge watch it

How about a Berserk? Good plot in its origin didn't stop 2nd and 3rd season anime to be, lets say, not as good, as it might be. The same with Overlord 2nd season(novel as a whole has a really high average score, but the same can not be said of anime).

All girls there had oddities, but only one branch of game with 1 girl was filmed. If it was another branch with another girl, we could not get drama at all.

Good luck with that. I can not enumerate many good short animes.

Well, that's the beauty of Harem. Everybody ships different characters. Not all ships sail .. some sink .. sink deep.

The movie was far better if ya ask me. The production did a good job. Season 2 and 3 is yeah .. sort of hit the bottom. And I haven't seen overlord.
Since ya have seen many animes, ya should know there are rotten eggs spread out here and there. I don't have expectations when seeing an anime since I dont read manga. That's why i am able to enjoy it more. Long as there is a flow in the anime and keeps me interested, Idc if the manga is good in comparison - cause - Reading that for a few things anime might have missed is pointless to me unless it's 'very' vital. Mostly, 'the hyped' anime meets the expectation of the fans cause it abides the manga anyway.

it's bad to be rooting for someone else but main protagonist is an idiot for not liking back the girl who likes him

if later they could all get someone it could be a good ending but getting heartbroken because they couldn't get the main guy is gross

Denpateki na Kanojo, Angel Densetsu, Imawa no Kuni no Alice, Colorful (2010), Guskou Budori no Denki (2012), Spring and Chaos, Death Billiards, Night on the Galactic Railroad (1985) (plot in the movie can be unclear at first sight, but when you read the description and about what actually plot is, you start to sense it in another way. I don't know, if you should read the description or watch the movie at first), Perfect Blue, Jin Roh: The Wolf Brigade, Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled From Paradise, Danna ga Nani o Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken, Le Portrait de Petit Cossette, Memories (1995),  Corpse Party: Tortured Souls - Bougyaku Sareta Tamashii no Jukyou,  King of Thorn, Grave of the Fireflies, A Peep Hole, Ghost in the Shell (1st and 2nd movies), Foxes of Chironup(seems a bit childish, but it leaves a really good aftertaste), Millennium Actress, Ghost Talker's Daydream, Demon Prince Enma, Rance: Sabaku no Guardian (1993) (it's really funny unlike it's stupid 2014 years sequel), Blame! (2017), The Dragon Dentist, Kizumonogatari, Rec,  Shelter.
