Great =) Sorry to disappoint though, but I can't imagine this manga having more than 2-3 month worth of content before the next hiatus, it is just that inconsistent. But, from personal experience I'd say even 10 chapters of hxh are a great fun to read. And since you haven't read the chapters that follow the anime you'll get to see some pretty cool stuff even before the new chapters come about. Usually new hxh arcs start sort of meh, not very exciting, but this one is an exception.

I see. My only gripe with the anime is that the chimera ant arc kind of became boring during the last 2/3rds, and then of course it picked up, but, it actually made me drop the anime. I didn't watch it for a year, and then I started watching it from episode 1 again, with my sister. While it did get a little better the second time, it was still a mixed bag for me. Other than that, it was a blast from start to finish. And, the manga has pretty much become a meme at this point, and I really hope it gets serialised for at least a couple of years.

I thought that part was really good in the manga O.o The beginning of the chimera ant arc is kinda terrible in the manga because it was published as sketches rather than actual finished manga pages, and because the story was so weird, with ants who were all new born and had 0 motivations other than feed, fight and conquer. For me it became interesting after Komugi showed up and kind started to show some dynamics in his personality. Then you have those morally perplexing fights between Netero and Meruem, and Gon and Pitou, which are so different from usual high stakes fights that we are used to in Naruto-like shonen anime. Even if it stopped there I would have been a big fan, but the part where king was brought back and the way he acted afterwards, it was so good to read. The manga also peaked in quality around this time, so we got some amazing art for these chapters.

I heard it was a bit drawn out in the anime, all those small fights. I almost skipped them when I first read the manga, so maybe that made me feel better about this arc, I dunno.

You misunderstood. I was talking about the part where they invade Meruem's place. In my opinion, the middle part of that invasion could have been cut down by 6-7 episodes. The pacing was pretty dull. Yes, the art-work was top-notch, and this is probably the best arc in the series, but it was a bit flawed.

Ah, I see. I kinda agree with that. That was one of the parts I was speed-reading through.
