So when did it stopped working and what do you think could be the cause?
Has there been any recent MyBB software updates? Because if that is the case, maybe there has been some files renaming or relocations that cause the queries not to work anymore.

You can also try disabling all the plugins and trying again to see if a plugin is interfering. If it works just test enabling the plugins one by one until you find the guilty one. If you can recall what plugins were installed just before the queries started to fail that would narrow things down.

I don't think skins has to do with this, but I guess that is another thing to look at.

Just to be clear, since I am not familiar with php I am saying this mostly going on a limb, so I could be very wrong or irrelevant to the issue. Still, best of luck, Clara. XD

I am familiar with programming in itself so, who knows? maybe I can figure something with what you explained (fat, fat chance) XD

No point using an image signature if it will only appear as a link, so have this boring text instead.

She gave the queries that are faulty in her post. She got the db queries wrong. I don't know anything beyond that.

She mentioned that she used them before and worked. That's why asked.

I am sorry I got confused by your post. My mom is a developer, so I know basic things but I am no geek.

Nope. No updates, upgrades and such. It's just that...I was trying to display today's posts by making a global variable in the index.php file but the db queries were leading to an error. I am not so sure what's wrong with them though. They worked before and they are not at all like sql queries or even python code that I know to connect to database or java :/
So, I really am lost Lost1

Don't sweat it. I am pretty much in basic for PHP too.
I love programming and I am okay with C and java languages but am yet to get familiar with PHP (I want to and I definitely should), so in the end I guess I am just as clueless. XD

I see. Since you were creating a global variable that will connect to the DB I think the error could be due incorrect permissions. I am not sure where or how to ensure that new global variable has permission to do what is supposed to do but that could be a reason for a 500 error.

If you touched .htaccess, then it could be something in there.

This is not php this is JS (Javascript) which is not my area of expertise

This is a massive line of code (The picture is a small snippet). That is where your issue is coming somewhere in that code something doesn't match up.

My suggestion would be to ditch MyBB asap because it only brings problems and security issues. Use something like IPB 3.4.x or IPB 4.1.x. If you need IPB just contact me, i can also setup the whole IPB forum.

I will be making a test forum so you could see what the IPB 3.4.x would be like.
